About the Exhibition

GASBON METABOLISM presents "AFRICOLOUR Ⅲ," a solo exhibition by Ghanaian photographer Sarfo Emmanuel Annor, co-organized with DIGINNER GALLERY. Annor photographs young people living in Koforidua, Ghana, rendering them in vivid colour through the lens of a smartphone. Using everyday fabrics and objects, his images capture the energy and hope latent in daily life, and the rich relationships of community — a powerful vision of the imagination and future held by a new African generation.

When DIGINNER GALLERY first introduced Annor's work in 2024, he was only 21. His photographs have been presented mainly in galleries and art fairs across Europe and the United States under the curation of Bridge Gallery, Paris; "AFRICOLOUR Ⅲ" marks the first presentation of his work in Asia. Working with an iPhone rather than expensive equipment, he embraces a direct approach that reflects the immediacy of his generation while suggesting new possibilities for photographic expression.

His work has been featured in Fisheye Magazine, The Guardian, Beaux Arts Magazine, Cultured Magazine and Le Quotidien de l'Art. He was selected for i-D's "Hot Creatives 2022" and named a grant recipient at the PhotoVogue Festival 2023.

The AFRICOLOUR series began with its initial presentation at DIGINNER GALLERY and has since developed as a traveling exhibition. This third iteration highlights the fresh energy found in the everyday moments of young people in Ghana, presenting a colourful portrait of Africa's present — and a hopeful vision for its future.
