Red Soil
久保寛子「赤土」
NOW ON — 2026.6.21 — 10.5

About the Exhibition

Drawing on research into prehistoric, folk and ethnographic art, Hiroko Kubo sculpts with industrial materials such as wire mesh and agricultural sheeting. Her work reconsiders the beauty held in mythic idols and everyday implements, addressing natural threats, the destruction and renewal of relics, and marginalised representations of women.

"Red Soil" is presented in two parts. Within the raw industrial structure of GASBON METABOLISM — a former tripod factory — Kubo's practice around earth, clay and prayer unfolds. A Hainuwele Sculpture workshop was held on the eve of the opening.
